MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541088245 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Madras Iit Madras on September 16, 2025, for Integrated Hyperspectral Imaging System For Non-Destructive Sample Analysis And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Sujatha Narayanan Unni; and Jyotisana Meena.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: INTEGRATED HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGING SYSTEM FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE SAMPLE ANALYSIS AND METHOD THEREOF The present disclosure relates to an integrated hyperspectral imaging system (100) and method for acquiring hyperspectral image data of a sample (112). The system includes an illumination assembly comprising a light source (102) and an aperture (104) configured to generate illumination within a visible wavelength range. A Linear Variable Filter (LVF) (106) is incrementally displaced by a motorized filter-positioning assembly (108) along a predefined path to sequentially select different wavelength bands. One or more optical elements, including a mirror (110), direct illumination corresponding to the selected wavelength bands onto the sample (112). An RGB imaging device (114) acquires respective images corresponding to the sequentially selected wavelength bands. A processing unit (116) synchronizes filter displacement and image acquisition, generates wavelength-specific images, and constructs hyperspectral image data comprising spectral and spatial information.
