MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641113482 A) filed by Anurag University on September 22, 2026, for Integrated Driver Safety Monitoring And Autonomous Vehicle Control System.

Inventors include Dr. P. Vishwanath Kumar; Mr. Thoom Shivamani; Mr. Ambati Siddharth; and Mr. Arla Sri Sai Sharan.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a vehicle safety system (100) for detecting driver drowsiness and alcohol consumption and initiating autonomous vehicle intervention. An eye-blink sensor (101) monitors eye closure and an MQ-3 alcohol sensor (102) senses alcohol in breath. An Arduino Uno controller (103) identifies drowsiness based on continuous eye closure and detects alcohol based on a sensor threshold. Upon detection, a buzzer (104) and vibration motor (105) provide an initial warning. When the unsafe condition persists and the driver remains non-responsive, the controller (103) actuates a servo motor (106) coupled to a mechanical linkage and friction brake assembly (107) for progressive braking and controls a relay module (108) for operating a DC solenoid valve (109) to interrupt fuel flow. The coordinated intervention reduces vehicle propulsion and vehicle speed toward a controlled stop. The figure associated with abstract is Fig. 1.
