Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated deployable stabilization and landing mechanism for a cylindrical CanSat structure. The system comprises a cylindrical structural housing having a plurality of recessed vertical slots configured to accommodate deployable members in a stowed configuration, wherein the members remain substantially within the external profile of the CanSat during launch and ascent. The deployable members are actuated by servo motors powered by an onboard electrical power system and are configured to transition from the stowed configuration to a deployed configuration during descent. In the deployed configuration, the members provide aerodynamic restoring effects during descent and additionally function as landing supports to increase the ground support region and improve post- touchdown stability and upright orientation. The structural casing incorporates an additively manufactured internal isogrid structure providing distributed structural load paths and a lightweight structural configuration. The casing has been evaluated through static structural, eigenvalue buckling and modal analyses to characterize its structural response under prescribed loading and boundary conditions. The integrated configuration enables the deployable members to perform stabilization and landing functions while maintaining a compact external configuration during launch and ascent.
