MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541006617 A) filed by Nissan Motor Co. , Ltd. on January 27, 2025, for Integrated Carbon Capture System For Vehicle Exhaust.
Inventors include Macha, Hariprasad; and Arora, Sagar.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT INTEGRATED CARBON CAPTURE SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE EXHAUST Techniques for capturing carbon dioxide from exhaust gas of an internal 5 combustion engine are disclosed. An exhaust system (100) for an internal combustion engine includes a carbon capture unit (110, 200) connected in parallel to the main exhaust passage. The carbon capture unit (110, 200) receives a predetermined amount of exhaust gas and comprises a canister module (202) to adsorb moisture, a set of adsorbent modules (204) to 10 adsorb carbon dioxide; sensor modules (206) coupled to each adsorbent module to detect attribute changes indicating adsorbent saturation; and a control unit (208) to regulate exhaust gas flow between adsorbent modules based on sensor detections. The carbon capture unit (110, 200) may include a heat exchanger (302) to regenerate adsorbent materials. 15
