The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an integrated batch Reverse Osmosis (RO) - Forward Osmosis (FO) system designed for treatment of brackish groundwater and domestic wastewater with zero waste discharge. The system comprises a feed water tank (1) connected to a feed pump (2), followed by a coagulant dosing system (3), media filter (4), acid dosing system (5), and antiscalant dosing system (6) for pre-treatment. A high-pressure pump (7) supplies water to a pressure/work exchanger vessel (8) with a free piston and an RO membrane housing (9) to produce purified water collected in a permeate water tank (11) and concentrated brine stored in an RO reject water tank (12). The stored brine is utilized as a draw solution in the FO system through a draw solution pump (19). Domestic wastewater is supplied from an FO feed inlet tank (13) through a low pressure pump (14) and treated using a coagulant dosing pump (15), media filter (16), and antiscalant dosing system (17). A feed solution pump (18) and draw solution pump (19) circulate solutions across FO membranes (20) to enable osmotic transfer of water. The outputs are collected in FO feed outlet tank (21) and FO draw outlet tanks (22,23) for irrigation use. The invention provides an energy-efficient, closed-loop system for simultaneous production of potable water and reusable irrigation water. Figure-2
