MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621078948 A) filed by Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited on June 26, 2026, for Integrated Assembly Of Hermetic Compressor Unit With Motor-Side Cooling.

Inventors include Ramesh C Sahu; Pradeep Patil; and Ganesh Pilane.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: The semi-hermetic cooling assembly with integrated motor-compressor unit comprises a base frame, a motor-compressor unit, a canopy and an air cooling unit. The motor-compressor unit is mounted inside the base frame in an immobilized manner. The motor is prime mover and is connected to the compressor through a central shaft. The canopy is attached to the base frame creating a housing around the motor-compressor unit. The present invention adopts a dual loop architecture for cooling the motor and compressor using the ammonia through coolant coils in condenser and the PHE water chiller as well as water for cooling the canopy. The single source, multiple cooling architecture allows a compact condenser requirement as the primary refrigerant is not required to cool the canopy while the secondary coolant i.e. water, is cooled using the primary refrigerant, hence bulky chiller for secondary refrigerant is not needed.
