Abstract: ABSTRACT INTEGRATED ACTIVE COOLING IN VENTING CHANNEL FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES The present subject matter relates to a thermal management system 5 (100, 202) that integrates cooling and venting mechanisms for battery packs. The system includes a thermal chamber (102, 204, 302) having an upper wall and a lower wall. The upper wall defines a plurality of openings configured to receive a bottom end of a respective battery cells (104, 206). The system further includes at least one inlet port (106, 208, 306) and at 10 least one outlet port (108, 210, 308) disposed on the lower wall. The thermal chamber further includes a flow channel (110, 212, 310) positioned between the upper wall and the lower wall. Herein, the flow channel is configured to direct the coolant through the thermal chamber for cooling the battery cells and receive gases vented from the battery cells and direct the gases toward 15 the outlet port (108, 210, 308) during a thermal runaway event.
