Abstract: The present invention relates to an Integer Linear Programming (ILP)-based approach for efficient network traffic scheduling in communication networks. The system is designed to optimize the allocation of network resources such as bandwidth, link capacity, and routing paths by formulating traffic management as a mathematical optimization problem. In the proposed method, network traffic flows are represented as decision variables within an ILP model, subject to constraints including bandwidth limits, link capacities, flow conservation, and Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. An objective function is defined to minimize overall network delay and congestion while maximizing throughput and ensuring fair resource utilization among competing traffic flows. The ILP optimization engine computes optimal or near-optimal routing and scheduling decisions based on real-time network conditions. These decisions are implemented through a scheduling and routing controller that manages packet transmission across the network. A feedback mechanism is incorporated to continuously monitor network performance and dynamically update the optimization model, enabling adaptive traffic scheduling in changing network environments. The proposed invention enhances network efficiency, reduces latency, improves bandwidth utilization, and ensures scalable and reliable performance in modern wired, wireless, cloud, and IoT-based communication systems.
