Abstract: ABSTRACT INNOVATIVE CNC PLOTTER WITH MINIMISING STEP LOSS A high-precision, low-cost CNC plotter is disclosed which overcomes mechanical inaccuracies such as step loss and gantry racking through a multi-motor distributed drive system. The apparatus utilizes multiple low-cost geared stepper motors, for example four 20BYJ-46 motors, to synchronously drive parallel timing belts for a single linear axis. This arrangement aggregates individual motor torque to provide a balanced force that eliminates the risk of missed steps. The motors are controlled in unison by wiring their drivers in parallel to a single microcontroller output. The invention further comprises a low-cost mechanical failure sensor utilizing a roller-lever limit switch in contact with the timing belt to detect breakage or slippage. This combination provides a robust, professional-grade drafting solution at a fraction of the cost of commercial alternatives.
