Abstract: The present invention relates to acetylene lophines and their application as inkless writing material and fluorescent hydrogel beads. The present invention discloses the preparation process for TMS Lophine/ Acetylene Lophine. These compounds as a solution in an organic solvent can function as effective material for invisible message writing. When a message is written using the indicator solution, it remains colourless and invisible under normal visible light. However, upon exposure to long UV light (365 nm), the message appears clearly, emitting a distinct blue fluorescence. On the other hand, these fluorophores were also incorporated in the calcium alginate hydrogel beads to prepare fluorescent halochromic beads. Under neutral pH the beads produce dark blue fluorescence under long UV light while under alkaline pH these beads furnish green fluorescence and acidic pH gives rise to light blue fluorescence.
