MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647070184 A) filed by Becton Dickinson France on June 04, 2026, for Injection Device Including A Sealing Member, And Method For Removing Said Sealing Member From The Injection Device.
Inventors include Besson, Nicolas; Delobelle, Vincent; and Chandr, Auriane.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: This injection device (1) includes: a housing (2) containing a reservoir (11) for storing a predetermined volume of a medical product, a patch (22) arranged on the housing (2) for allowing attachment of the injection device (1) to an injection site, and a fluidic chamber (5) configured for fluidly connecting the reservoir (11) to a catheter (32), the fluidic chamber (5) being axially movable together with the catheter (32) between an initial position and an activated position, distally located with respect to the initial position, in which the catheter (32) is deployed outside the housing (2) in order to penetrate into the injection site. The device further includes: a sealing member (4), removably attached to the fluidic chamber (5) and arranged around the catheter (32) for maintaining sterility, a support (7), movable between a blocking position, in which the support (7) blocks movement of the fluidic chamber (5) so that the fluidic chamber (5) cannot reach the activated position, and a release position, in which the support (7) no longer prevents the fluidic chamber (5) from reaching the activated position, and a remover (6) configured for firstly removing the sealing member (4) from the fluidic chamber (5) and for subsequently displacing the support (7) from the blocking position to the release position.
