Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for multicast Multicast Broadcast Service, MBS, Radio Bearer, MRB, handling, after cell reselection of a user equipment, UE, to a cell of a target base station, wherein the UE was released from an RRC_CONNECTED mode to an RRC_INACTIVE mode by a source base station The UE transmits a request for transition from RRC_INACTIVE mode to RRC_CONNECTED mode to the target base station and, when reception of at least one multicast MRB of an MBS session was not continued in the RRC_INACTIVE mode, receives a request to reestablish a packet data convergence protocol, PDCP, entity and to initialize PDCP state variables of the at least one multicast MRB of the MBS session from the target base station.
