Abstract: ABSTRACT INDEPENDENT CRASH DETECTION AND AUTOMATED SOS ALERT SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES An independent crash detection and automated SOS alert system (100) for vehicles comprises a microcontroller unit (110), a multi-sensor fusion module (120) with an accelerometer (122) and vibration sensor (124), a GPS module (130), a GSM module (140), an alert and display unit (150) with buzzer (152) and LCD display (154), a manual override button (160), and an independent backup battery (170). The system employs a double-confirmation algorithm wherein a crash is confirmed only when acceleration exceeding a predefined threshold is corroborated by vibration impact detection. Upon confirmation, GPS coordinates are acquired and an SOS SMS with a map link is transmitted to pre- registered emergency contacts. The system is a self-contained portable retrofit module operating independently of the vehicle electrical system, universally applicable across all vehicle types. [
