Abstract: In Vitro Root Culture-Based Process for Sustainable Bryodin Production from Bryonia laciniosa This invention describes an advanced in vitro root culture-based bioprocess system for the high-yield and reproducible production of ribosome-inactivating protein bryodin from Bryonia laciniosa. The system integrates optimized germination protocols, aseptic culture establishment, callus induction, and adventitious root formation under controlled environmental and biochemical conditions. Biomass amplification is achieved through suspension culture techniques, followed by elicitor-mediated stimulation to enhance biosynthesis of the target protein. The produced biomass is subjected to controlled extraction and multi-stage purification processes to obtain high-purity bryodin. Analytical validation is performed using chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques to confirm identity, purity, and functional activity. The system ensures scalability, consistency, and independence from environmental variability associated with conventional cultivation. The invention provides a sustainable and efficient platform for the industrial production of bryodin, with applications in pharmaceutical, biomedical, and agricultural domains, particularly for antiviral, anticancer, and immunomodulatory uses.
