Abstract: The current invention is connected with a polyherbal medicated ghee compound with great antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is formulated as bioactive extracts of Tinospora cordifolia (Guduchi), Punica granatum (Pomegranate) and Moringa oleifera (Drumstick) in a lipid based carrier system containing ghee (Cow ghee) to improve the bioavailability and stability of the phytoconstituents. Primary phytochemical screening of the formulation revealed that the formulation had phenolic compounds, flavonoid, tannins, saponins and glycosides which are known to impart therapeutic effect. The in-vitro testing was done with prepared medicated ghee, which included hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity, Ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP assay) as an antioxidant activity, and protein denaturation inhibition (egg albumin method) and the Human Red Blood Cell (HRBC) membrane stabilization method as an anti-inflammatory activity. The formulation was observed to have great free radical scavenging capacity and high denaturation inhibition of proteins, which showed great antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. The combination of the selected herbal components in a ghee based delivery vehicle has a better therapeutic potential than individual extracts because of the synergistic effect. The invention puts emphasis on the novel, stable, and advantageous polyherbal medicated ghee mixture that can be applied in the management of oxidative stress and inflammatory illnesses. The formulation can also be developed to be applied in nutraceutical and pharmaceutical application.
