Abstract: ABSTRACT IN SITU MINERALIZED HYDROGEL COMPOSITE AND MICROFLUIDIC PLATFORM FOR SIMULATING BONE METASTASIS The present disclosure provides a process for preparing an in situ mineralized hydrogel composite and an in situ mineralized hydrogel composite obtainable by said process, suitable for use as a bone-mimetic extracellular matrix for encapsulating osteogenic lineage cells. The present disclosure also provides a system (700) and a method for synthesizing said in situ mineralized hydrogel composite in the form of microspheres, as well as a microfluidic device (600) configured for co-culturing different cell types, which is suitable for simulating cancer cell invasion, bone metastasis, chemotherapy-induced bone metastasis, and drug screening applications.
