Abstract: An improved rigid cartridge assembly (200) and holding system for milling cutters and boring bars is disclosed. The cartridge body (202) is configured in a square or rectangular shape, providing an increased contact area with the tool holder (201) for enhanced rigidity. A primary clamp (204) and an Allen head screw (206) form a double-locking mechanism to secure the cartridge body (202) 10 and prevent movement during machining. The assembly includes top-access adjustment screws (207) featuring left-hand screw (208) and right-hand screw (209) for precise axial and radial adjustments. Additionally, a wedge screw (210) and wedge (211) allow for fine-tuning of the radial position of the cutting edge (203). The design accommodates various cutting inserts and facilitates consistent 15 alignment of multiple cartridges, thereby improving surface finish, extending tool life, and increasing overall machining efficiency.
