MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541040926 A) filed by Versa Drives Private Limited on April 28, 2025, for Improved Method Of Rotor Assembly Of Permanent Magnet Brushless Dc Motor.

Inventor includes Sundararajan Muruganandhan.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a rotor assembly (100) for a permanent magnet Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor. The rotor assembly (100) comprises a rotor body (102) with aninner periphery; a single metal ring (106) snugly fitted within the inner periphery, providing mechanical support; permanent magnets (104) arranged along the ring’s inner radial surface (122); and standard wedges (108) and at least one non-standard wedge (110) made of non-metallic material, ensuring alignment, spacing, and secure retention of magnets while minimizing interference with magnetic flux. The non-standard wedge (110) is dimensioned to fill the final gap, enhancing stability. The rotor assembly (100) method (700) involves precise machining, positioning, and fitting of components. The rotor assembly (100) ensures, simplified assembly, and improved motor performance and reliability. Figure 1 will be the reference.
