Abstract: The present invention provides a plant and improved methods that allow for extraction of large amounts of CO2 and minerals from water such as from seawater. The plant comprises: - a mineralization chamber (4) for precipitation of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) by addition of a strong base (3a), - a degasification chamber (9), with a vacuum pump (10) that extracts CO2 gas from the decarbonated water that has been acidified (8), - an outlet chamber for discharging the treated water.
