Abstract: This immunochromatographic test piece is used for detecting a test substance in a sample containing blood cells by immunochromatography and comprises: a matrix for developing a development liquid; a blood cell removal pad that is layered on the matrix and includes an addition section for the sample; and a waterproof layer layered between the matrix and the blood cell removal pad. The blood cell removal pad has a protruding section protruding further onto the matrix in the development direction of the development liquid than the waterproof layer.
