The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: An immunochromatographic assay device (202) for detection of sickle cell disease is provided. The immunochromatographic assay device (202) includes a sample well (216) for reception of an analyte (216) that is obtained by mixing a whole blood sample with a testing buffer (204); a test strip (100) comprising a sample pad (102), a gold pad (104), a nitrocellulose membrane (106), and an absorbent pad (108) sequentially arranged along a length of the test strip (100), the analyte (216) is allowed to flow through the test strip (100); and a set of capture monoclonal antibodies, a given capture monoclonal antibody, immobilized at a given capture zone of a set of capture zones in the test strip (100), has binding affinity with a specific haemoglobin variant in the analyte, and the sickle cell disease is detected based on binding of at least one haemoglobin variant with at least one capture monoclonal antibody.
