Abstract: The present application provides an image processing method and system. The method comprises: a first module acquires a first RAW image, transforms the first RAW image into a first sub-image, a second sub-image, a third sub-image and a fourth sub-image, splices the first sub-image, the second sub-image, the third sub-image and the fourth sub-image according to a set splicing mode to obtain a grayscale image, encodes the grayscale image to obtain an encoded stream, and sends the encoded stream to a second module; and the second module decodes the encoded stream to obtain a grayscale image, splits the grayscale image, and performs inverse transformation processing to obtain a second RAW image. Since the first module does not need to execute complex image signal processing (ISP), the processing time of the first module for the RAW image can be saved, and the calculation complexity can be reduced. In addition, the first module encodes the grayscale image, and the data volume to be encoded of the grayscale image is small, so that the grayscale image encoding speed is relatively high, thus improving image compression performance.
