MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109561 A) filed by G. L. Bajaj Institute Of Technology And Management on September 12, 2026, for Image-Guided Plant-Care Apparatus With Selective Leaf Cutting And Soil Tilling.
Inventors include Siddhi Tyagi; Priya; Vidhi Baghel; Suhani Sharma; and Dr. Harikesh Singh.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is a plant-care apparatus having a camera module positioned to acquire images of a plant region containing leaves and an adjacent soil region. A processing unit classifies, from the images, a leaf condition and a soil condition. A cutting assembly includes a blade movable across a leaf-receiving path, and a tilling assembly includes soil-engaging tines rotatable within the soil region. An actuation interface couples the processing unit to the cutting and tilling assemblies. In response to classification of an unhealthy leaf, the actuation interface moves the blade across the leaf-receiving path. In response to classification of compacted soil, the actuation interface rotates the tines through the soil region. When neither classification is present, both assemblies remain inactive, thereby coupling image-based diagnosis to condition-specific physical plant care.
