An initialization command is received by the initial ultrasonic sensor (3a) and by the initial further ultrasonic sensor (4a). A first voltage at a second data terminal (14d) of the final ultrasonic sensor (3d) and a second voltage at a second data terminal (18d) of the final further ultrasonic sensor (4d) are determined. A first address is assigned to the initial ultrasonic sensor (3a) depending on the first voltage and a second address is assigned to the initial further ultrasonic sensor (4a) depending on the second voltage.
