MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511023213 A) filed by Sanskriti University on March 15, 2025, for Hygienic Eatable Storage And Retrieving Assistive Device.

Inventors include Dr. D. S. Tomar; and Rajesh Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A hygienic eatable storage and retrieving assistive device comprises of a cuboidal body 101 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, multiple sections are housed within body 101 configured for storing eatables with each sections being equipped with a drawer arrangement 103, a pair of flaps 104 arranged on lateral sides of each section via a motorized slider 105 for providing translation to flaps 104, a proximity sensor embedded in body 101 for detecting presence of a user’s hand, a pair of finger-shaped slots 106 carved on flaps 104 for enabling user to insert user’s fingers, a touch sensor embedded in slot for detecting contact of user’s fingers in slots 106, an imaging unit 107 integrated in body 101 for capturing and processing multiple images, a motorized two-axis slider integrated in between flap and each slot to provide required translation to slots 106.
