Abstract: [Problem] To provide a hydrocracking reaction catalyst in which a strong acid is not used, and which exhibits excellent catalytic activity equal to or higher than that of catalysts in the prior art even when the amount of palladium is reduced compared with palladium catalysts in the prior art. [Solution] A hydrocracking catalyst for hydrocracking the carbon-heteroatom bond of a substrate organic compound containing said carbon-heteroatom bond, the hydrocracking catalyst comprising a carbon- based carrier that carries at least: a palladium catalyst; and a phosphoric acid compound and/or an acetic acid compound.
