Abstract: The present invention discloses a hybrid vision-assisted intelligent gas stove safety system and method for autonomous monitoring of cooking activities using artificial intelligence, computer vision, flame sensing, weight sensing, and multi-sensor data fusion. The system continuously acquires image frames, flame status, and cookware weight measurements to determine cooking conditions through an embedded sensor fusion engine. Upon detection of flame in the absence of cookware, an adaptive unattended flame timer is initiated to distinguish temporary utensil removal from hazardous unattended cooking. When the unattended condition persists beyond a predetermined threshold, the system automatically activates an audible alarm, electronically closes the gas supply valve, transmits Internet of Things-based emergency notifications, and records the event for future analysis. The disclosed invention significantly improves kitchen safety by reducing false alarms through contextual decision-making, enabling autonomous hazard mitigation, minimizing gas wastage, and providing scalable intelligent monitoring for residential and commercial cooking environments.
