Abstract: ABSTRACT HYBRID SOLID–GEL ELECTROLYTE ARCHITECTURE COMPRISING A DIW-FABRICATED LLZO LATTICE FOR THERMAL-RESISTANT ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERIES AND METHOD THEREOF The present invention relates to a hybrid solid–gel electrolyte architecture (100) for lithium-based battery systems. A three-dimensional porous lithium lanthanum zirconium oxide (LLZO) ceramic lattice is fabricated using a direct ink writing process, preferably with a triply periodic minimal surface geometry. The porous LLZO lattice is infiltrated with a flame-retardant gel polymer electrolyte comprising PVDF-HFP, triethyl phosphate, at least one lithium salt, and ceramic nanofillers. The disclosed hybrid structure combines the mechanical strength and thermal stability of the LLZO framework with the interfacial flexibility and ionic conductivity of the gel electrolyte. In certain embodiments, the electrolyte includes an asymmetric flame-retardant gradient configured to provide enhanced protection near high-voltage cathode (101) regions. The architecture improves electrolyte retention, lithium-ion transport, interfacial compatibility, and thermal stability, thereby providing a safer and thermally stable electrolyte system for next-generation electric vehicle batteries.
