The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lightweight safety helmet manufactured from a hybrid sisal and hemp fiber reinforced epoxy composite. The helmet comprises an outer protective shell formed using sisal fibers and hemp fibers embedded within an epoxy polymer matrix, wherein the fibers are arranged in predetermined proportions, orientations and stacking sequences to improve impact absorption, stiffness and structural integrity. Sisal fibers provide reinforcement and load-bearing capability, while hemp fibers provide complementary lightweight reinforcement and energy dissipation characteristics. The fibers may be surface treated to improve fiber–matrix adhesion and reduce moisture sensitivity. The helmet may further include an energy-absorbing inner liner, adjustable retention system and reinforced attachment regions. The composite shell can be manufactured through compression molding, hand lay-up, resin transfer molding or vacuum-assisted molding for applications requiring lightweight personal head protection.
