Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a hybrid Savonius-Darrieus vertical axis wind turbine system (100) for residential power generation under variable and multidirectional wind conditions. A hybrid rotor (101) combines Savonius drag-based and Darrieus lift-based rotor configurations to capture wind energy and produce rotational movement. A rotor shaft (102) transfers the rotational movement to a direct-drive permanent magnet generator (104), which converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy. A structural frame (103) supports the rotor (101), shaft (102), and generator (104). A control circuit (105) receives and manages the generated electrical energy, while a voltage regulation unit (106) regulates the electrical output for controlled delivery. An output indication unit (107) indicates an operational or electrical output condition. A battery storage system (108) receives and stores excess generated electrical energy for subsequent use. The rotor (101) is optimized using computational fluid dynamics simulations and validated through wind tunnel experiments, operates within 3 to 15 m/s wind speeds, and achieves a power coefficient of 0.38 at a tip speed ratio of 2.7.
