MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641099806 A) filed by Rajalakshmi Engineering College on August 18, 2026, for Hybrid Satellite Image Analysis System For Detection Of Marine Environmental Hazards.

Inventor includes Dr. J. Senthil Murugan.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: This invention provides an integrated hardware architecture designed for real-time remote sensing, threat mapping, and automated identification of oceanographic anomalies. The platform processes multi-spectral satellite streams directly at the ground station level, bypassing the latency issues typical of remote cloud computing. High-frequency microwave downlinks containing orbital radio telemetry and multi-band satellite imagery are picked up by a motorized, directional signal receiver unit. These incoming data streams are routed through a shielded cabling infrastructure directly to a high-performance analysis workstation, which features an ultra-wide display interface for real-time geospatial visualization, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) feature evaluation, and surface anomaly tracking. Complex mathematical computations, signal noise reduction, and deep neural segmentation models run locally on a specialized hybrid edge computing core outfitted with hardware AI accelerators. This edge processing enables rapid, on-site detection of oil spills, harmful algal blooms, and floating debris fields. A dedicated edge gateway router handles local network routing, security protocol enforcement, and remote server synchronization, delivering a fully self-contained hardware unit capable of instant hazard identification and immediate maritime alert distribution.
