MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641097809 A) filed by Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation on August 13, 2026, for Hybrid Mwcnt-Sic Reiforced Nano-Enhanced Pcm For Lithium-Ion Battery Thermal Management Systems.
Inventors include Chakali Bhaskar; and Dr. G. Murali.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Hybrid MWCNT - SiC Reinforced NePCM for passive Lithium-Ion BTMS. The invention solves the problems of prior art paraffin based PCMs such as low thermal conductivities, leakage during phase-changing and-low thermal-stability. The 10 composite produced is a paraffin wax matrix with predetermined weight percents of MWCNTs and SiC nanoparticles, and it is obtained by melt blending, magnetic stirring, ultrasonication, casting and cooling. The developed NePCM is designed to achieve the high latent heat storage capacity, high thermal conductivity and improved thermal stability and heat transfer performance. The composite will also be used to lower battery operating temperature during 15 battery use and enhance temperature uniformity, which is suitable for passive thermal management of lithium-ion batteries for EVs, BESS, consumer electronics, renewable energy systems, aerospace, defense applications and others.
