MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641094266 A) filed by Mohan Babu University on August 04, 2026, for Hybrid Iot Fire Hazard Detection And Suppression System.

Inventors include Mr. P. Yogendra Prasad; Ms. K. Thejaswini; Ms. C. Lavanya; Mr. H. Sivamani; and Mr. G. Hemanth Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled fire hazard detection and suppression system configured to provide continuous environmental monitoring, intelligent fire hazard classification, automated emergency notification, and rapid fire suppression. The system comprises an Arduino Uno microcontroller, smoke sensor, flame sensor, combustible gas sensor, DS18B20 temperature sensor, ESP8266 Wi-Fi communication module, USB camera, relay module, DC water pump, LCD display, buzzer, cloud platform, and machine learning-based image classification module. During operation, the environmental sensors continuously monitor smoke concentration, gas leakage, flame presence, and ambient temperature, while the USB camera captures real-time images of the monitored environment. The acquired sensor readings and captured images are analyzed using threshold-based decision logic and a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model to accurately identify fire hazards and minimize false alarm conditions. Upon confirmation of a fire event, the embedded controller automatically activates audible alarms, displays warning messages, transmits emergency notifications through IoT communication, stores event information on the cloud platform, and energizes a relay-controlled DC water pump for automatic fire suppression. The modular architecture supports integration with Building Management Systems (BMS), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms, surveillance systems, emergency response networks, and future artificial intelligence technologies. The invention provides a reliable, economical, scalable, and efficient fire safety solution capable of improving fire detection accuracy, reducing emergency response time, minimizing property damage, protecting human life, and enhancing overall fire safety through integrated IoT monitoring and machine learning-assisted hazard verification.
