MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541105789 A) filed by Petchimuthu on November 01, 2025, for Hybrid Gamma–beta Voltaic Energy Conversion Device Utilizing Reinforced Copper Rods In Lead Oxide (pbo) And Silicon Carbide (sic) Matrix For Nuclear Waste Energy Harvesting.
Inventor includes Petchimuthu.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: A hybrid gamma–beta voltaic device designed for direct conversion of radiation from nuclear waste into electricity. The invention employs alternating PbO and SiC semiconductor layers reinforced with hollow copper rods acting as both electrical conductors and coolant channels. Gamma and beta radiations are absorbed and converted into charge carriers through photoelectric and betavoltaic effects. The generated charge is collected via copper channels, with heat managed through a passive coolant loop. The assembly is fully shielded, providing a long-life, maintenance-free system for nuclear waste energy recovery.
