Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid fuel cell-battery powered electric tower car system comprising first and second power packs installed in respective bogies of the tower car. Each power pack includes a fuel cell stack, a high-gain DC-DC converter, a battery energy storage system, a bidirectional DC-DC converter, and a DC- AC converter. The power packs independently supply power to corresponding pairs of AC traction motors associated with the respective bogies. A control system receives notch control signals for speed regulation, generates pulse-width modulation signals, regulates DC-link voltage, and manages power distribution between the fuel cell stack and battery energy storage system. The system operates in fuel cell-only, battery-only, and hybrid modes with uninterrupted transitions. The battery provides transient power and absorbs regenerative energy, while the fuel cell supplies sustained power. (Figure 1)
