Abstract: ABSTRACT HYBRID EMERGENCY STOP MODULE WITH DUAL-MODE ACTIVATION A hybrid emergency stop module (100) comprises a microcontroller (10) managing communication protocols and safety mechanisms, a wireless communication module (20) coupled to the microcontroller (10) receiving wireless emergency stop commands, a wired emergency stop interface (30) receiving wired emergency stop commands from an external device, a relay (40) in a power path between a power input and a subsystem configured to discontinue power upon activation, a transistor driver (50) between the microcontroller (10) and relay (40) receiving control signals and providing current and voltage to operate the relay (40), and a current sensor (60) on a motor power line coupled to the microcontroller (10) monitoring current flow and providing current measurement data. The microcontroller (10) initiates an automatic emergency stop event by controlling the transistor driver (50) to actuate the relay (40) when current measurement data exceeds a predefined threshold.
