Abstract: ABSTRACT [0026] The present invention relates to a portable emergency communication system designed to provide reliable text-based messaging services in locations where conventional cellular communication infrastructure is unavailable, damaged, congested, or inaccessible. The proposed Satellite SMS Bridge utilizes a portable ESP32-based communication node integrated with LoRa transceivers, GPS positioning technology, OLED display interfaces, battery-powered operation, emergency alert mechanisms, and a bridge gateway architecture capable of interfacing with satellite communication networks. The invention enables users located in deep-sea fishing regions, mountains, forests, deserts, border areas, disaster-affected zones, and remote villages to generate emergency messages together with real-time location information. The generated message is transmitted through long-range LoRa communication to a bridge gateway station. [0027] The bridge gateway subsequently forwards the emergency information to a satellite communication infrastructure, emergency response center, rescue authority, or predefined contacts. The invention is particularly beneficial for fishermen operating beyond cellular network coverage, where communication becomes difficult during engine failures, severe weather conditions, medical emergencies, accidental drifting, or natural disasters. Unlike conventional satellite phones that require expensive hardware and subscription services, the proposed system provides an affordable, scalable, and portable alternative capable of supporting multiple users through shared satellite infrastructure. The invention improves communication reliability, enhances emergency response efficiency, and supports search-and-rescue operations while maintaining low deployment and operational costs.
