MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641068396 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on June 01, 2026, for Hybrid Composite Brake Light Housing Clip With Enhanced Uv Stability And Mechanical Retention For Automotive Tail Lamp Systems.
Inventors include R. Endymion Grosious; Dr. L. Natrayan; and Dr Ramya Mohan.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a brake light housing clip manufactured using a hybrid composite of polycarbonate, carbon powder, and graphene. Conventional tail lamp mounting clips made from ABS or nylon commonly suffer from deformation, UV degradation, and mechanical failure due to prolonged exposure to heat, vibration, and outdoor environmental conditions. The proposed composite material enhances stiffness, impact resistance, and long-term dimensional stability, while graphene provides additional UV protection and surface durability. The hybrid PC-carbon- graphene clip maintains secure retention of the tail lamp assembly, resists cracking under load, and prevents loosening caused by vibration. By integrating advanced carbon-based reinforcement with a high-performance polycarbonate matrix, the invention delivers a reliable, long-lasting, and UV- resistant mounting clip suitable for modem automotive lighting systems
