Inventors include Karthiga M; Aruna A; Abirami D R; and Devadharshini K.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT: HUMAN SAFETY SYSTEM FOR AUTONOMOUS ROBOTS This project presents a strong AT-powered human detection system that is intended to prevent accidents by stopping robot operations upon detecting human presence in predefined danger zones. The YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm is used to deliver • high-accuracy real-time human detection, combining computer vision and machine learning techniques. Ensuring· human safety in hazardous industrial environments is crucial, especially in workplaces like welding zones where autonomous robots operate. Key use cases include welding factories, construction. sites, and logistics, where the system significantly reduces risks and ensures a safer operating environment. This solution addresses the urgent need for enhanced safety ineasures in industries by utilizing frameworks such as OpenCV for image processing and Flask for backend development. A web-based dashboard is developed for comprehensive monitoring, offering live video feeds, real-time alerts, and safety event logging. In order to improve the safe coexistence of humans and robots in industrial settings, this project integrates real-time detection, prompt intervention, and remote monitoring to provide a scalable and effective human safety assurance system . Keywords: human detection, autonomous robots, industrial safety, YOLO algorithm, real-time monitoring, hazardous zones.
