Abstract: Mental well-being has become a growing concern in today's fast-paced world, where people of all ages face increasing levels of stress, anxiety, loneliness, and emotional exhaustion. While awareness of mental health is improving, many individuals still avoid seeking professional support due to social stigma, financial constraints, limited accessibility, or fear of being judged. In recent years, AI- powered conversational agents have emerged as an accessible source of emotional support. However, most existing solutions primarily focus on maintaining conversations, often overlooking the importance of encouraging meaningful actions that contribute to long-term emotional well-being. This introduces Hridova, an AI-driven emotional wellness companion designed to bridge the gap between empathetic conversations and real-life behavioral change. Instead of acting solely as a virtual companion, Hridova recognizes users' emotional states through natural language interactions and guides them toward practical wellness activities such as mindfulness exercises, breathing techniques, journaling, hydration, and short physical activities. To promote responsible AI usage, the system incorporates time-bound interactions and motivates users to engage with the real world rather than relying on prolonged conversations. A reward-based engagement model further encourages users to develop consistent self-care habits by unlocking wellness content as they complete recommended activities. By combining emotion-aware artificial intelligence with action-oriented wellness interventions, Hridova aims to foster healthier daily routines, improve emotional resilience, and support long-term mental well-being. The proposed approach demonstrates how AI can move beyond passive conversations to become a responsible companion that inspires positive behavioral change while complementing, rather than replacing, professional mental healthcare.
