MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521019578 A) filed by Rohit Madhukar Patne; and J D College Of Engineering And Management on March 05, 2025, for House Sized Airbags System For Earthquake Protection.

Inventor includes Harsh Kailash Katole.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a house-sized airbag system designed to protect residential and commercial buildings from earthquake-induced structural damage. The system integrates seismic sensors, an inflation control unit, and airbag chambers strategically placed within the building's foundation, walls, and structural framework. Upon detecting seismic activity, the sensors trigger the inflation mechanism, deploying airbags within seconds to absorb and distribute seismic shocks, thereby minimizing structural stress and preventing collapse. The airbags are reinforced with shock-absorbing materials to enhance durability and stability. Additionally, the system includes a controlled deflation mechanism, ensuring a safe and gradual stabilization of the building post-earthquake. The invention provides a scalable, cost-effective, and innovative earthquake mitigation solution, enhancing the resilience of buildings and improving occupant safety
