Abstract: Abstract of the invention The present invention relates to a modified dental hot plate termed "Hot Step," des1gned for use in prosthodontic and dental laboratory procedures involving wax manipulation. The instmment comprises a handle, a working plate for heating and shaping dental wax, and an elevated structural step positioned between the handle and the working plate. The step has a height ranging from 8 mm to 15 mm and creates a vertical elevation that restricts rearward flow of molten or softened wax toward the handle during use. By acting as a physical barrier, the step reduces the likelihood of molten wax contacting the operator's hand, thereby minimizing minor bum injuries and improving handling control. The working plate retains conventional geometry and heat-conductive properties, ensuring full compatibility with existing heating techniques and manipulation protocols. The modification enhances operator safety, procedural stability, and precision during occlusion rim fabrication, jaw relation procedures, wax contouring, preclinical training, and dental laboratory applications without altering core instmment functionality.
