MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611037037 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Roorkee on March 26, 2026, for Horn Antenna Structure For Operation In Millimeter-Wave And Sub-Terahertz Frequency Ranges.

Inventor includes Basavarajappa, Gowrish.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a horn antenna structure (100) comprises a rectangular waveguide feed section (102) configured to receive an input electromagnetic signal and a plurality of printed circuit board sheets (104) stacked in a cascaded configuration and operatively connected to the waveguide feed section (102). Each PCB sheet (104) includes a central waveguide slot (S) (106) and surrounding holes (H, D), wherein the central slot (S) (106) of adjacent PCB sheets (104) are aligned to form a continuous waveguide channel for electromagnetic wave propagation. The surrounding holes (H, D) are configured for electromagnetic field shaping, signal coupling, and mechanical alignment, and engage with one or more fastening elements (112). A metal horn block (110) is coupled to a terminal end of the stacked PCB sheets (104) to form an aperture section, and a waveguide flange interface (114) mounts the assembled horn antenna.
