The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides a controller for a multi-chiller chilled-water plant which continuously estimates plant cooling demand as a composite cooling demand command formed by summing a feedforward tonnage signal derived from the product of chilled-water volumetric flow rate and supply-return temperature differential with a proportional-integral feedback correction responsive to chilled-water supply temperature error, and clamping the result to plant capacity bounds. A hybrid best- efficiency-band (BEB) engine determines per-chiller operating bands from manufacturer performance maps indexed by condenser-side conditions, refined by stability- gated field calibration of measured per-chiller power and computed cooling output. An edge-executed online machine-learning module learns per-chiller efficiency surfaces via stability-gated stochastic gradient descent; a confidence gate enables AI-derived bands only when training sufficiency criteria are met, with automatic fallback to manufacturer-based bands.
