Abstract: ABSTRACT HIERARCHICAL PRIORITY-BASED NESTED TASK SCHEDULING SYSTEM FOR EFFICIENT LOAD DISTRIBUTION IN CLOUD-FOG ENVIRONMENTS The present invention discloses a Hierarchical Priority-Based Nested Task Scheduling (HPNTS) system (100) for cloud-fog computing environments that explicitly accounts for virtualization overhead penalties in nested container-on-VM architectures. The system (100) comprises a Workload Generator and Classifier module (110) that classifies tasks as High-Performance Computing (HPC) or High-Throughput Computing (HTC); a Priority Assignment module (120) implementing multi-dimensional priority scoring; a Trust-Aware Nested Scheduler (TANS) Engine (130) employing an enhanced Asynchronous Advantage Actor-Critic algorithm with a Residual Convolutional Neural Network for intelligent orchestration; a Resource Pool Manager (140) maintaining flat VM instances (142) and nested container instances (144); and a Reactive Management Layer (150) with an Interval-Aware Scheduler (152) and Migration Manager (154) for runtime defragmentation. The system routes HPC tasks to flat VMs bypassing overhead while packing HTC tasks into nested containers for density, achieving 45% average makespan reduction over baseline scheduling. [
