MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641076517 A) filed by R. M. K. College Of Engineering And Technology on June 20, 2026, for Hierarchical Ai-Driven Industrial Iot Architecture For Predictive Reliability Management.
Inventors include Dr. T. P. Anish; Dr. Cornelius K; and Mr. K. Suresh Babu.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hierarchical AI-driven Industrial Internet of Things architecture for predictive reliability management. The architecture comprises a sensing layer, communication layer, edge intelligence layer, fog intelligence layer, cloud intelligence layer, predictive reliability engine, degradation analytics framework, remaining useful life estimation module, maintenance optimization system, and enterprise integration platform. Operational information including vibration characteristics, thermal profiles, acoustic emissions, electrical signatures, lubrication quality indicators, environmental conditions, and process variables is continuously acquired from industrial assets and processed through coordinated edge, fog, and cloud intelligence layers. Artificial intelligence and machine learning models evaluate equipment condition, identify degradation mechanisms, forecast reliability trends, estimate remaining useful life, and predict failure probabilities. The maintenance optimization system generates predictive maintenance recommendations and optimized intervention schedules based on asset condition, operational priorities, and resource availability. The invention enables real-time reliability assessment, predictive maintenance planning, reduced downtime, improved asset availability, enhanced operational efficiency, lower maintenance costs, and intelligent decision support for Industry 4.0 industrial environments.
