MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110800 A) filed by Iimt College Of Management on September 15, 2026, for Hierarchical Ai-Based Real-Time News Verification And Credibility Authentication Protocol For Digital Media Networks.

Inventors include Dr. Ramshankar; and Ms. Ishita Arora.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A computer-implemented hierarchical artificial intelligence-based system and method for real-time verification and credibility authentication of digital news content is disclosed. The system comprises a Source Authentication Module, Content Authenticity Engine, tamper-evident Blockchain Metadata Ledger, Propagation Risk Prediction Module, Credibility Scoring Engine and Adaptive Visibility Control System. A source associated with a content item is authenticated to generate an authenticated source token, while artificial intelligence models analyze textual, contextual and multimedia characteristics to generate a content integrity score. A cryptographic representation and provenance information are registered in a distributed ledger. A propagation graph is analyzed to determine a propagation risk index. The system combines the authentication, content integrity, propagation risk and source-history parameters to generate a dynamic credibility score. Dissemination characteristics are adaptively modified according to the score. The credibility state is continuously updated using subsequent propagation, engagement and verification information, thereby providing a real-time closed-loop technical framework for digital content authentication and misinformation propagation control.
