Abstract: A container for hermetically sealing certified reference materials includes a top, a bottom, and a sidewall spanning between the top and the bottom to define an interior. The container further includes an opening disposed in an upper surface of the top that provides access to the interior. The container also includes a depressed ring formed in the upper surface of the top, the depressed ring may be concentric with the opening. The container includes an induction seal bonded to the upper surface of the top of the container, wherein the induction seal is at least partially disposed in the al least one depressed ring. An intermediate portion of the container disposed between the top and the bottom may have a generally truncated bicone shape. The container may also include a set of threads proximate to the top to enable a screw cap to be attached to the container.
