MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631096317 A) filed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd on August 10, 2026, for Helicopter Connection Apparatus For Rail-Less Winch-Wire Traversing System.

Inventor includes Mukherjee, Partha Pratim.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: A helicopter connection apparatus for use with a rail-less winch-wire traversing system includes a steering arm assembly configured to engage aft strong points of an MH60R helicopter and to couple with deck winch wires, and a main landing gear tow bar assembly configured to engage main landing gear tie-down structures and to couple with a hanger wire, without structural modification of the MH60R helicopter. The steering arm assembly includes a bracket fabrication (1), interface pins (4), and a roller bracket assembly (6) configured to receive the deck winch wires and permit rolling movement as wire geometry changes along a traverse path. The main landing gear tow bar assembly includes port and starboard adaptors (5, 6), attachment arms (8, 9), a cross bar (3), a wire rope assembly (2), and a yoke pulley assembly (1) configured to accommodate offset traversing while maintaining hanger-wire clearance from a radome.
