Abstract: The present application relates to the technical field of substrate glass manufacturing, and specifically relates to a heating device and method for substrate glass production. Said heating device comprises: a heating furnace tray and a plurality of heating members; the side of the heating furnace tray close to a glass sheet is provided with a plurality of slots, the plurality of slots being arranged in an array in the height direction of the heating furnace tray, and the slots passing through the heating furnace tray in the length direction of the heating furnace tray; each heating member comprises a fixing rod and a heating wire, the fixing rods being arranged in the slots in the length direction of the slots and being fixedly mounted on the heating furnace tray; the heating wires are wound on the outer circumferential surfaces of the fixing rods in the length direction of the fixing rods, the outer diameter of the heating wires being greater than the height of the slots; and a high reflection layer is provided on the inner side surface of each slot, a certain distance being provided between each high reflection layer and the outer diameter of a heating wire. The heating device of the present application can be safely and reliably used for a long time, thereby improving the stability of production, and also improving product quality and heating efficiency.
